The purpose of this study is to collect data to help researchers better understand the effects of glucagon on the amount of calories you burn. This will provide important information on the development of new forms of treatment for weight loss. Glucagon is a hormone normally produced by the pancreas in your abdomen and helps to raise blood sugar levels when your blood sugar is low. In addition, infusion of glucagon into a vein for 2-4 hours has been shown to increase energy expenditure in humans. However, it is unknown whether glucagon increases energy expenditure when given for a more prolonged period of time. This information is important for the development of new weight loss medications that use glucagon as one of the components.
