Daniel Lupu

Overview

Dr. Daniel Lupu is a Senior Research Scientist at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute in Orlando. He received his MD degree from Transilvania University, Brasov, Romania in 2005, followed by residency. In 2008 he started doctoral and postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During the following 8 years, he co-designed, performed, and published multiple studies related to genetic and epigenetic variation in hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatic epigenetic markers of obesity sensitivity, and one-carbon metabolism. Before joining AdventHealth he was a Clinical Genomics Variant Scientist with Labcorp – Integrated Genetics, where he worked on the analysis and interpretation of genetic variants linked to cancer, metabolic, cardiovascular, and rare diseases. Dr. Lupu considers this an exciting time to be working in the field of precision medicine and is looking forward to advancing the research initiative in oncology and contributing to the increased utilization of genomic data for clinical care at AdventHealth
