Program Manager - Research Services
Kara has 6 years of research administration experience after working as a Program Manager for the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF). Kara’s work at HJF supported the Biotechnology High Performance Computing Software Applications Institute (BHSAI) in Fort Detrick, Maryland. The BHSAI collaborated with life scientists within and outside the Department of Defense to develop and integrate computational biology and medical informatics applications in research programs focused on improving the medical protection and care of our country’s military personnel.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a minor in Education from Mount St. Mary’s University, she served for 12 years as a Case Management Specialist and as a supervisor at the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services.
