Overview

Dr. Shridhar is board certified in radiation oncology with special interests in improving patient care through novel clinical trial development, design of innovative radiation therapy techniques, and expanded multidisciplinary collaboration with surgical and medical oncologists. He earned both his doctorate of Pharmacology and medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where he also completed a radiation oncology residency at the Detroit Medical Center and Karmanos Cancer Institute. Dr. Shridhar has special expertise in the delivery of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to lung, pancreas, liver, and adrenal primary and metastatic tumors, as well as the treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies, such as cancer of the esophagus, pancreas, rectum, gallbladder and bile ducts.Throughout his career, he has taught oncology to physicians in training, provided expert care to patients and conducted a litany of in-depth medical research and clinical trials, including more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, scientific abstracts and poster presentations. Nationally, he is on the faculty of the ASTRO E-Contouring course, teaching community radiation oncologists the complexities of treating esophageal cancer with radiation therapy. In addition, he also is an instructor for a national board review course at the Osler Institute, preparing future radiation oncologists to manage the highly complex gastrointestinal malignancies they will see in their daily practice. He is also an invited speaker at numerous national medical meetings, including the Advanced Users meeting for the treatment of liver cancers.Dr. Shridhar joined Florida Hospital Medical Group’s flagship radiation oncology practice from Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, where he served as Chief of Radiation Oncology GI Service and Chief of Theraspheres Radioembolization Service, as well as Associate Professor of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He currently maintains active positions on several national medical committees, as well as memberships in American Society for Radiation Oncology, Southwest Oncology Group and Radiation Therapy Oncology Group.
