HONEY: Development of novel biomarkers for the early diagnosis of type 1 diabetes

The purpose of this study is to identify novel biomarkers in the early stage of Type 1 Diabetes as well as to follow disease progression in individuals with early onset T1D.

To be enrolled in this study, you must meet certain requirements. You may be eligible to participate if you meet the following criteria:

  • Between the ages of 12-18
  • Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes within 3 months of Screening

Study DurationUp to 6 months

Study Commitment:

  • Participants with Type 1 Diabetes:  3 separate visits to the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute
  • Participants without Type 1 Diabetes:  1 visit to the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute

Study Procedures:

  • Vital signs, height, weight
  • Fasting Blood draw
  • Glucose-Insulin log

Compensation: Up to $50 for participants without diabetes. Up to 150 for participants with type  diabetes
